Thanks Kat for this one!

You Are 50% Weird

Normal enough to know that you're weird...
But too damn weird to do anything about it!

Named twins!

They both have names now, very cool names at that, which is good, but now we all have to get used to referring to them by real names, instead of T1 and T2... Susan is disappointed that they've been named, I think she was looking forward to a lifetime of making Terminator and Anie jokes.... Anyway, the twins, their names: Ashar and Rohan... And don't say it, I thought it too... Very Lord of the Rings, but I don't think that was the intention!! Apparently Ashar is the brother of someone in the Bible, but in my Tasmanian Road Rule swamped brain (I'm jsut about to go for my Ls again!) I can't remember! and Rohan is the Irish (I think) spelling of Rowan.... I think they're very good names though... Ash and Ro...!! No middle names, apparently Granny told my sister that middles names are very old fashioned, and whether this was supposed to be a deterrent or not, it's worked!

So that's my news for the week, nothing else much, had 3 different parties for Aussie Day yesterday, felt mildly chuffed that I'd guessed Gorillaz and Foo Fighters would be somewhere in the top ten of the Hottest 100, and managed to tan through the sunscreen, on my front at least (I think Bridget put it on my back too thickly for any form of rays to get through, atomic included.... That's ok, I'll be safe from sun induced cancer at least.... although sunscreen induced cancer is another matter!)

Stu and Elly's wedding is tomorrow, hooray! I've bought a dress for it (black, I know what everyone will say, but I reallydon't care!) and am looking forward to it! Is up in Launie, so we'll be going up tomorrow, coming back down on Sunday....

Then for you in Austria, enjoying that snow.... Last Sunday was very hot, I reckon it got to about 40 degrees, so a whole heap of us went to a really nice fresh water swimming place near Huonville.... Ahhh.... Three metre deep water, nice big cliff beside it to jump off (well I didn't enjoy the jumpng so much, but other people did!) as well as faster moving water, but only ankle deep.... Crazy place, hard to describe really! We then went and played hockey, blergh that was hot! 6pm, and a thermometer in town reckoned it was 43 degrees.... I was wearing two pairs of hockey socks too, I could have squeezed water out of them afterwards.... We won though! Hooray!

Barely seen my parents in the past few weeks, I've had so much on since I got back, but since Christmas I've just been hectic! Two weeks of camps, then my parents were away for a week, then I was housesitting for a few days, and now I'm just enjoying being able to sit at home and not have to do anything.... Except organise a few things (anyone interesting in Relay for Life?) and start thinking about what I need for uni! But I don't have to go anywhere to organise things, which is lovely!

Gotta go, lunchtime, then licence time!

Aunty Mog, take 2 (and 3)

I'm an aunty again, and there are a few pics, just to prove it! Both are healthy, small, but everything's normal! They'll be kept in for another 4 or 5 weeks, but my sister goes home on the weekend! It's so exciting!!!

Thanks for all the prayer about them, please keep it up, they'll still be needing those eyes watching over all the time....

I think I've gotten a job... Have a trial tomorrow at a backpackers in town, which I'm really looking forward to, because it's exactly waht I wanted... Hopefully they'll keep me on after that....

But yay! Twins! Healthy! Rose's (my niece, their sister) reaction apparently was very funny. She's been jabbering on about the twins for months now, and kissing them goodnight through the belly button, but it's all been a bit abstract for her and she was silent, gobsmacked for about a minute when she met them for the first time! Then went home saying "babies got fingers. Babies got 2 eyes. Babies in box" (from mummy's tummy to a box.... logical)

T2 again, look at how big his feet are!

T1 again... So small!

This is the smaller of the two twins....

This is T2, weight 1.1kg, about 2 pounds....

This is T1, not yet named, born on the 17th of January, 2006. Weight 1.5 kg at birth... (about 3 pounds)

Charming last full day behaviour...

The moon reflecting off the water, was very beautiful....

That's Conningham beach!

Tinkerbell!!! That was the pose for calling my group in, twirl around like that, calling "Tinkerbells", and they'd all come running and join in... It was great!!

Just a nice scenic shot, there's Mt Wellington in the background, looking over Hobart... This is all at Conningham, about 30 minutes drive from Hobart.

Ben contemplates the water...

Another Ben moment...

It's SUPERKATE!

Our feet....

Phil, Eden and me... Those clouds look way more dramatic than they really were!

Heather the sunscreen monster.... Waves Camp 2006

Imo K and Imo W not posing... at all....!

There's them on the way up, awww, pretty water!

Here's Bridget and Imo K, at the top of Collin's Cap, we walked uphill for a long time to get there!

Hey look, it's me! At Waves!

What a crazy hectic day!

Which started at 6:50 this morning, when I was woken up to the sound of the telephone ringing beside my ear! But let me back up a little!

I'm home from my two fantastic camps, which were both wonderful and a lot of fun and satisfying! I got home to an empty house, my parents being away at CMS Summer School this week, where mum's leading some course. This is lovely in itself - the first time my parents have trusted me to be at home overnight, and it's for a whole week!! Usually it's a thing of "we're not so happy about you being alone" but this time it was "you'll be right, won't you?"... Ahhh, the joys of going away for a while...

Anyway, got home last night, a little later than I'd intended, and went to bed with the phone beside me, in case I slept until 12 and someone rang! Someone did ring, but a little earlier than expected! It was the security complany of the people across the road, saying their alarm had gone off (they've had a few break ins, so the company rings us, and we go and scare off anyone!), could I see anything! I ran upstairs, looked out the window, couldn't see anything, hung up, went back to bed and sleep...

Next thing that woke me (very ironical) was the neighbours ringing saying sorry I was woken so early... This was 10ish, so good time for me to get up...

My morning prgressed smoothly, put on a load of washing, sent off email addresses from the first camp, then went to collect Napolean Dynamite from a friend (I've listened to people hyping on about it for the past two weeks, very hard for me to have never heard of it..... Strange as!). came home, started a new load of washing... Next thing i knew, was a kerthump sloosh sloosh sloosh, and one very wet laundry... The washing machine door had burst open and there was water gushing out! No idea why.... Vaulted onto the freezer, turned off washing machine, closed door, lay down towels and rang mum... Found out what i'd done was right, just leave all the doors and windows open so the floor would dry, and that there were holes, for that purpose, under the freezer, so no worries there! Then I was informed (and this is the exciting bit) that my sister is having the twins TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Emergency caesaerean! Hoorsay!!! Hooray! I'm so excited!!! Apparently T2 (who was smaller and weaker, but then going lots better) hasn't done as well this week as hoped, and they decided it was a good time to get them into the real world!!! Then Erica rang me and we talked for a bit! Yay! Then I hand washed towels (never try to wring out a beach towel....) and talked to Granny etc etc

So now I"m off to cook dinner, for me and Em (both home alone this week, don't like cooking for one!) then round to Heth's to be excitable and meet their boarder, and all that jazz!

Hooroo! Still working on the photo posting thing, they've changed the system, so it's harder!! Meant to be easier, but really not!

Well my far spread friends (that sounds like a jam advertisment!)

I"ve now been back for exactly two weeks, and have heard the question "is it weird being back" more times that I can poke a stick at, and the answer is YES and NO! It's kinda weird because everyone's got experiences and jokes about things that I've missed, which is strange (and sometimes a little embarassing when I laugh for a different reason, and then everyone asks me why I'm laughing, and I have o explain, and it shows how my brain really doesn't work... but yeah...!) And no it's not so weird because it's back home, and hey, I'm a well travelled person with stories to tell my grandkids now! It is nice to know that some people are only happy to have me back for my massaging skills though... Hmmm Jono???

Ummm.... What have I done in my time so far! I have enrolled at uni, I am now an official Uni Student.... without any id, or proof.... But the lady at enrollment day told us that from that moment we were students, so there you go! She told me so! I'll be studying Arts Law, with English, History, Intro to Law and 2nd Year German (ohlala! Spiffy!) Erica and I have history and german together which will be nice! Today I handed in my HECs form, exciting stuff...

On Tuesday Bridget got back from her expeditions in Mexico and Jamaica (no Jamaican Rum consumed, but she can do that next time!) and America, she was rather daz-ed and confus-ed, but it's good to have her back! Imo K and I went out to meet her, which gave us a chance to explore the new airport stuff, looks all very shiny and spiffy, although all the toys are still made in China... But the lounge is cool.... We think it must be one of the very few airports left in the world, where anyone can go through to the departure lounge, not just those who are flying... And that's really nice! Although we know Hobart has a very quirks at the airport.... The baggage carousel for instance (although I reckon it's probably faster than the traditional ones, and far friendlier, with the sniffer dogs and all!)

Well I've had a pretty social life in the past weeks, although I'm sorry to those I've only seen at their works or anything, I promise we'll all have to do something in January, although after camps, so after the 16th for me....

Today I had dinner with a friend, her family and a friend of hers who I'd never met, but heard all about while I was away (and I think it was vice versa) which was fun, after that Erica, Hannes and I went and ate icecream, walked along Bellerive, stickybeaked Erica's Grandpa's old house and played Frisbee.... Then I raced off to my other engagement, a farewell party for Kate B, where I played massager (I'm not confident enough in my masseuse and masseur terms to use them!) and then came home again... Wow this is all getting exciting!

Ummm... Ahhhh.... My brother came home today, his first Christmas home for several years, which will be nice, but no sister this year, complications with the twins she's expecting. Please pray about that, one's not getting enough food and is much smaller, and we are waiting for an emergency caesarean any time in the next couple of weeks.... But it's nice that my brother is home, usually he's working with his church or something at some big Christmas lunch for the Melbournian homeless, I think... Something along those lines...

My brother being home meant we finally bought a Christmas tree, tradition in the family is that the children go tree hunting, and this year we've gotten a good one. Very bushy, not too bald in the middle (will put photos up for you Austrians!)... Lovely! Finally starting to feel like Christmas, although I think that being pulled in to be a sheep in the nativity play also helped!

Tomorrow is meant to be hot, so maybe I'll be organised and organise a beach trip, which would be nice, since I haven't been yet, since I've been back, it's always the hot days that I have other stuff to do! Like Wednesday, when it was about 36 degrees, and I had to go job searching.... Discovered people who work at youth hostels are very enthusiastic... Dunno if I've got the right enthusiasm levels to be able to get in there! Have to go back everywhere in the middle of January!

But really that's all... Sunday will be Christmas, go to church in the morning (I'm doing a reading, so have to go - usually just go to midnight mass on Saturday) then do the present thing, have lunch, talk the afternoon away, eat more in the evening (well I will at least, my family will probably be horrified if I say I'm still hungry!) then watch one of the inevitable DVDs (someone alwazs gets a movie of some sort, last year I got the original Italian Job, one of the best films ever I reckon!).... It's always hard to keep Christmas around the proper focus, there are so many distractions, but it's not impossible.

Well I think that's all.... Maybe more, maybe less next time, alhtough this time it took threats from AUstrians to write, so now I know that people are still reading this, even though I'm back! Hooray!
